Chicken EQ completely rethinks how an equaliser should look and work. Tenderizer presses harsh, ringing and muddy resonances back toward the sound's own spectral envelope. Then six radial bands give you analog-matched static tone or cut-only adaptive control. Pop Top finishes the air. The engineering keeps you focused on the music; the chicken keeps it fun.
The product is the hero. Incoming audio wakes the meters, adaptive nodes fold inward and the chicken keeps an eye on every move.
THE REAL DIFFERENCE
Most equalisers put cleanup and taste on the same graph and leave you to untangle them. Chicken EQ gives them different jobs, then keeps the final shine separate too. The eyes are watching. The judgment is not.
It does not chase whatever is loudest. A zero-latency detector compares each region with the sound's own local spectral neighbourhood, preserves transients and presses resonant, harsh, ringing or muddy protrusions back toward that envelope. Tender sets how much. Focus moves from broad polish to surgical control. Listen reveals exactly what leaves.
Instead of editing across a Cartesian chart, you work around the sound. Angle chooses frequency across the split-log horseshoe. Radius states boost or cut relative to the chicken. Wheel adjusts Q. The response is both display and control.
Each of the six analog-matched bands can hold a fixed curve or add cut-only adaptive movement beneath it. Threshold, ratio, attack, release and a reduction limit decide when the correction arrives without turning a tonal preference into upward motion.
A boost-only high-frequency finisher opens the top after cleanup and shaping. You can add the last bit of air without redrawing the curve that solved the mix.
01 / ONE MUSICAL SURFACE
Frequency is angle. Gain is radius. The shape menu stays contextual. There is no spreadsheet of tiny identical knobs between you and the sound.
Low frequencies begin at the lower left, one kilohertz sits at twelve o'clock and air lands at the lower right.
Pull a node toward the chicken to cut. Push it outward to boost. The centre is neutral and always legible.
Threshold, ratio, attack, release and a reduction limit turn any band into controlled, downward-only motion.

A 96-point log-spaced detector compares each region with its local spectral neighbourhood, preserves transients and presses only the protruding problem back toward the sound.
Six analog-matched radial bands work in fixed or cut-only adaptive mode, with the full filter family for broad musical shaping and narrow repair.
A boost-only high-frequency finisher opens the top without changing the cleanup and tone decisions you already made.
IN DEVELOPMENT
Chicken EQ is being built as its own standalone plug-in and as the new fixed EQ inside Chicken Strip. The public installer is not available yet.
